Bindaas is a brand new Foggy Bottom restaurant that’s bringing a whole new flavor to the neighborhood, thanks to the innovative vision of its award-winning chef, Ashok Bajaj. Think of this place as an Indian version of the tapas and small plates trend popular in Spain.
When you arrive, you’ll find that the shareable, snack-like street food known in India as chaat forms the bulk of the menu, with a selection of kebabs, rolls, buns, and curries to round out the selection. Regular say that the best way to experience it is to come with friends, and sample widely based on your particular tastes. Some of the most popular dishes in Yelp reviews are the pao bhaji (a vegetarian answer to the sloppy joe), butternut squash uttapam, and avocado golgappa. The dining room is rather cozy, so reservations are recommended if you have a larger party.
