If you’re searching for a spot to celebrate a special occasion, Brasserie Liberte, a new French spot open since November, will not disappoint. The interior is romantic and moody, with dark blue and patterned accent walls, wood features, plush seating and artwork. It’s the perfect environment to sit down, relax, and enjoy time together.
To start, the french onion soup gratinee is said to be one of the best french onion soups in the city, so order a bowl and the cheese board to share while you make up your mind about entrees. Quick favorites on the menu are the traditional boeuf bourguignon with red wine braised short rib (there’s also a mushroom version for vegetarians), or the roasted chicken breast with a lavender-honey glaze and black truffle potatoes. You can’t skip their opera cake for dessert, so be sure to save some room!
